tie dyed t-shirtsAlthough the branch is one of the smaller branches in the librarysystem, it offers a variety of services to residents. This location has collections for adults, teens and children. It offers Internet access and has wireless access, too. The branch has a family story time at 11 a.m. every Tuesday andThursday, and is participating in the Catch the Reading Bugsummer reading program for children, which began on Monday and endsAug. 15. Children can earn prizes for reading. In addition to the regular Tuesday and Thursday story times, thebranch is offering these special summer programs for children: ? At 9:30 a.m. Friday Worm Ranching for All Ages, author ofGarden Crafts For Kids, Diane Rhoades will share true storiesabout global worming. ? At 2 p.m. July 9 Bug-agami craft for fourth- tosixth-graders. Participants will make an origami bug. Registrationis required. Call the branch at 890-1850. ? At 2 p.m. July 14 The Asheville Tourist mascot will makean appearance. ? At 3 p.m. July 18 A local beekeeper will talk about beesand bring a fully enclosed and safe beehive for children to see.Registration is required. ? At 2 p.m. Aug. 6 Fake tie-dye T-shirts craft program forfourth to sixth-graders. Participants will learn how to fake tie-dye. Each participant needsto bring a white T-shirt. Registration is required. The Mills River branch is also participating in the Teen SummerReading Program Metamorphosis @ Your Library. Teens can earn a Barnes & Noble gift card for reading and enter thedrawing for the grand prize a Zen MP3 video player. Teens can also register (registration required) for the followingteen craft programs: ? 3-5 p.m. Thursday henna tattoos. ? 3-5 p.m. July 17 friendship bracelets. The Mills River branch is open 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesdayand Thursday. It is open 1:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday and Friday.
